Danish aid for flood victims
The government of Denmark has agreed to provide Rs 11.6 million as an immediate assistance for victims of recent flooding in Nepal.
"This support is being provided to the Danish Red Cross to work closely with the Nepal Red Cross Society for providing emergency relief to the flood and landslide victims," says a statement by the Embassy of Denmark.
Further to this support the Embassy of Denmark has also agreed to provide Rs 3.4 million for the immediate relief to the flood victims especially for the procurement and delivery of Non Food Relief items. The agreement was signed between the Embassy of Denmark and Nepal Red Cross Society, Friday.
The responses by international development partners like the Danish government, EU, US and UN WFP to help the flood victims of Nepal have come after the Nepal government requested for international help to cope with the aftermath of the natural disaster. At least 93 people have died during this year's floods and landslides in various parts of Nepal. nepalnews.com sd Aug 10 07
