Education Minister is in a mood to resign
Tired of what he calls as dictatorial style of functioning of the Prime Minister, Minister for Education and Sports Pradeep Nepal has said he is in a mood to resign from his position.
Nepal who is a senior leader of UML said he has already informed general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal about his feelings.
"I am in no mood to remain in this position by bearing pressures from the Prime Minister. If the party allows, I will resign within 12 hours," the minister told Nepal Samacharpatra.
He accused that Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala rarely attends cabinet meetings and always tries to impose his personal decisions on the cabinet. "His style resembles a one-party government. There is no discussion on any issue in the cabinet," he added.
Minister Nepal said that in view of PM Koirala's style of working, the CA elections are impossible for next 12 years. He also blamed Koirala for not making key appointments in the universities.
His remarks have come in the wake of resignation by Maoist leader and Forest Minister Matrika Yadav, who too had blamed Koirala's style of functioning as one of the reasons compelling him to step down. nepalnews.com sd Aug 12 07
