Encephalitis claims two in Jhapa

Two people have died due to outbreak of Encephalitis in Jhapa district in eastern Nepal Tuesday.

Deependra Lankandwe of Dharampur Village Development Committee, ward no. 2 and Barun Nepali of ward no. 9 died after being infected with a serious bout of the disease which causes acute inflammation of the brain.

According to the District Public Health Office, Jhapa, the number of people falling sick due to the outbreak of Encephalitis (a viral infection) in the area is increasing steadily since the past 4 days. nepalnews.com ag Aug 15 07
