Gorkhapatra to reinstate sacked journalists
The management of the Gorkhapatra Corporation has finally relented to the pressure by Federation of Nepalese Journalist (FNJ) and Press Union and have decided to reinstate the district correspondents of the state-owned newspaper Gorkhapatra Daily who it had sacked some time ago.
In the meeting with representatives of FNJ, Press Chautari, Press Union and the Revolutionary Journalist Association Friday, the management had decided to renew the contract of the district correspondents who contract period expired on July 16.
In a press statement issued by the corporation following the meeting, all district correspondents willing to work in the corporation has been asked to contact it by August 22 to renew their contracts. nepalnews.com ag Aug 18 07
