Nepse drops by over 12 points
After weeks of bullish trend at the stock, the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index finally plunged by 12.13 points over the weeks.
The index, which had opened at 718.09 points on the opening day of the week, closed at 705.96 points on the last day of stock trading on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Post reports that from this week on the stock market began trial trading of shares under automation, using a computerized international-standard security system.
According to the daily, NEPS is to formally use the system from Sunday, which is expected to make the trading more transparent, making it a bit difficult for market makers to manipulate the prices. A British based company- Comdaq LTD prepared the software for the system. nepalnews.com ag Aug 19 07
