Police arrest 7 in possession of weapons from Thamel
Police have arrested seven people from a guest house in the tourist hub of Thamel in Kathmandu late Monday night in connection with various crimes in the city.
The police also confiscated two home made pistols, socket bombs and other sharp weapons from them.
Acting on a tip off, the police raided Tibet Guest House in Thamel and arrested them at around 1 am. Those arrested has been identified as Raju Lama of Makwanpur, Kumar Lama of Dhading, Ram Bahadur Bhujel of Nuwakot, Min Bahadur Moktan of Rasuwa, Anup Lama and Gyanu Lama of Kavre and Dilip Parajuli of Sindhupalchowk.
According to police, those arrested were involved in various crimes including armed robbery and extortion for some time. The arrested persons have been kept in custody at the Hanumandhoka Police Office for further investigation. nepalnews.com ag Aug 21 07
