NC veep says he will not stand in the way of Congress unification
Sushil Koirala, Nepali Congress (NC) vice president, has said that he will not stand in the way of Congress unification.
"I have made it clear that I will not pose obstruction by demanding this or that position. My history shows that I have never run after positions," Koirala told Radio Nepal.
He added that the taskforces of the two Congress parties were actively working to bring about the unification with the blessings of party president and prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala.
It was reported recently that the two taskforces have agreed to make Sushil Koirala acting president of the unified Congress while the president of NC-Democratic Sher Bahadur Deuba will be awarded the position of senior leader ahead of Sushil Koirala in the party protocol. nepalnews.com sd Aug 22 07
