Health workers announce nationwide strike

Doctors and health workers have announced nationwide protest programme demanding that the government do something to give the people some semblance of peace and security in the country.

The meeting of Nepal Medical Association held Saturday announced that all doctors and health workers would take to the streets from Bhadra 16 (September 2) if their 13-point demand that includes improving security situation of the country is not fulfilled.

They said they were compelled to take to the streets to protest the increasing attack on doctors, health workers and health institutions from various groups.
