Ministerial panel fails to finalise list of secretaries

A meeting of the Administrative Committee of the cabinet failed to finalise the list of 27 government secretaries Tuesday as well.

The meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in Singh Durbar in the morning ended inclusively as the committee members could not arrive at a consensus on the names of eight candidates. 19 nominees had been picked up earlier by the committee, which has been authorised to nominate 27 secretaries.

A cabinet meeting last week had formed the committee under the Minister of State for General Administration, Ram Chandra Yadav, to nominate 27 secretaries out of the 81 names recommended by an advisory panel.
