No approval for three envoy-nominees
Three ambassadorial nominees of the government have not received the formal approval of the host country – also known as agrement – yet.
They include Pampha Bhusal, an envoy nominee for France, Yogendra Dhakal, an envoy nominee for Australia, and Hamid Ansari, an envoy nominee for Saudi Arabia.
Bhusal and Dhakal were nominated by the Maoists while Ansari was picked by the UML.
In general diplomatic practice, when the host country does not provide approval letter within three months of submission of the name of any envoy nominee, it should be considered as having been rejected. Their nomination period has already crossed three months period.
Meanwhile, the Maoists have decided to forward Bhusal's name for the cabinet minister instead. She will be joining the cabinet as Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare when the Maoists rejoin the government. nepalnews.com sd Dec 30 07
