SC issues show cause notice on Thapa's arrest
The Supreme Court (SC) has sought a written reply from the Home Ministry over the arrest of former Home Minister Kamal Thapa.
Acting upon a habeas corpus petition filed challenging detention of former minister, a single bench of Justice Tahir Ali Ansari issued the order.
The bench however said that there was no need to seek a written reply from the Prime Minister's Office though the office is one of the defendants of the case.
The government on Wednesday handed over three-month detention warrants to Thapa, who was arrested on Monday night on the charge of instigating violence in Terai. nepalnews.com pb Feb 02 07
