Eight parties close to understanding, preparing draft for PM's address
The leaders of the eight political parties who have continued their discussions to resolve Terai unrest have said they are close to reaching an understanding.
According to reports, the parties are closing down on the issue of electoral system. They have decided to increase the number of electoral constituencies and adopt proportional representation system on those increased constituencies.
Bimalendra Nidhi, general secretary of Nepali Congress (Democratic) has informed that the eight parties have urged Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala to address the nation by including the points of agreement towards resolving Terai unrest.
