WWF to help in biodiversity
The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has agreed to help Nepal government in promoting and protecting the biodiversity.
The WWF and Nepal government have signed a five-year agreement to conserve biodiversity and carry out sustainable development efforts.
As per the agreement, the WWF help totaling US$ 10 million will be used to carry out initiatives such as Terai Arc Landscape Program, Northern Mountains Conservation Project, and Sacred Himalayan Landscape Program.
These programs are aimed at promoting conservation of fauna and flora; sustainable livelihood; human resource and institutional development; and environmental tourism, among others. nepalnews.com sd Feb 10 07
