Sher Bahadur Deuba, former prime minister and president of Nepali Congress (Democratic), has said that there shouldn't be disintegration of the country in the name of federalism.
"In the name of federalism, there shouldn't be disintegration. National integrity must be sacrosanct," Deuba said addressing a program in Nepalgunj on Saturday.
Deuba said it was, however, necessary to bring forward the backward classes including ethnic communities, women and Dalit. He assured the backward communities that NC (Democratic) will add its voices to their demands for betterment.
Deuba claimed that his party has already decided to allocate 40 percent reservation to ethnic communities, women and backward classes. nepalnews.com sd Feb 18 07
