At a time when all political forces of Nepal have criticised the King’s statement issued on the occasion of Democracy Day, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal has welcomed the message.

Issuing a press statement, chairman of the party Rabindra Nath Sharma described the King’s message as per the democratic norm.

The party has also described the protest against the King’s message as violation of fundamental rights.

The party also condemned all acts aimed against monarchy and urged all people to be cautious against such conspiracies.

In his message to the countrymen on the occasion of 57th Democracy Day, King Gyanendra defended his February 1, 2005 steps terming it as a result of compulsion. nepalnews.com pb Feb 21 07
