Maoist-affiliated All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) has locked out the Office of the Exam Controller (OEC), Sanothimi, for an indefinite period demanding increase of SLC examination centers for the convenience of students.
The Maoist students said that they were compelled to take lock out the OEC as it failed to meet their demands during their 72-hour ultimatum.
The student body has been demanding that examination centers should be added especially in remote areas for the convenience of students.
The ANNISU-R also announced that it would lock out all district education offices from Sunday onwards if the OEC failed to meet their demands.
According to the officials at the Education Ministry, the government is planning to increase the number of examination centres by 150 this year.
