YCL abducts Prasai

Cadres of Maoist-affiliated Young Communist League (YCL) have abducted businessman Sitaram Prasai who had been evading arrest despite warrant against him.

Three cadres of YCL are reported to have abducted him from his office of Cottage and Small Industry Development Bank in Kamaladi on Sunday.

Reports quote YCL sources as revealing that Prasai had been abducted to inquire him about financial irregularities.

Nine months ago, Nepal Rastra Bank had asked police to arrest Prasai for wrongfully giving loans worth Rs 280 million. Police, however, had not arrested him.

Meanwhile, senior police officer Dhak Bahadur Karki has said that police has started search to locate Prasai. nepalnews.com sd Jun 04 07
