TUTH receives medical equipment from Japan

Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Tsutomu Hiraoka on Monday handed over medical equipment worth 77 million Japanese Yen to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Kathmandu amidst a function held at the hospital, a press release issued by the Embassy of Japan said.

The medical equipment has been given to the hospital under this Non - Project Grant Assistance scheme.

The medical equipment, which is chiefly meant for diagnostic purposes, includes ultrasound, biochemistry analyzer and blood gas analyzer, among others, was received by Minister for Education and Sports Pradeep Kumar Nepal on behalf of the hospital.

After handing over the equipment, ambassador Hiraoka said the Japanese government attaches great significance to the cooperation in the field of health and medical care and that it is the important pillars of Japanese aid to Nepal, the release stated.

Japan provided medical equipment to the TUTH worth 25 million Japanese yen under the Non - Project Grant Assistance scheme in 2003 also. nepalnews.com ag June 04 07
