8 die, over 50 injured in Nuwakot bus mishap

At least eight people were killed and over 50 others injured when an overcrowded bus met with an accident at Newar Gaon in Nuwakot district Thursday afternoon.

The Ba-Kha-6110 passenger bus heading for Chokate, Nuwakot, slipped off the road and fell several meters down the road at around 2:00 pm, reports said.

Two of the deceased persons have been identified as Krishna Dangol, 44, of Santhali VDC, Rasuwa district, and Shanker Bahadur Tamang, 42, of Bageshwhori-9, Nuwakot.

Most of the injured passengers have been brought to the district headquarters, Bidur, while some are undergoing treatment at Trisuli. Among the injured are six foreign tourists.
