PM to propose November 26 poll date

Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala today said he would propose November 26 as the date for constituent assembly election at the next cabinet meeting.

During a meeting with Speaker Subash Nemwang in Baluwatar, Koirala expressed confidence that the next cabinet meeting would announce the November 26 election date.

The Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to hold CA election in the stipulated time and urged active role of the legislature parliament in creating an environment conducive for the election.

Koirala and Nemwang also discussed about enacting elected-related laws at the earliest.

The legislature parliament on June 13 adopted the Interim Constitution- Second Amendment Bill incorporating Mangsir (Nov-Dec) deadline for the CA polls. nepalnews.com mk June 16 07
