Bomb discovered at residences of Dr. Pandey and Pahadi
Police disposed off the pressure cooker bomb it discovered at the residence of civil society leader Dr. Devendra Raj Pandey on Thursday.
According to police, a two-litre pressure cooker bomb inside a black bag was discovered at the premises of his residence in Bishalnagar, Kathmandu . Dr. Pandey is currently in London to attend the conference organised by Department for International Development (DfID).
Dr. Pandey's wife Padma Pandey informed that they noticed the object inside the bag only in the morning. Police believe that the group which planted the bomb there had tried to explode it at night but could not do so and had fled.
Meanwhile, a crude bomb was also discovered from a residence where another civil society leader and rights activist Krishna Pahadi has been staying. It, too, was disposed off by the police.
Pahadi has said that elements who have become desperate due to movements launched by them in favour of democracy were responsible for the planting of the bombs. nepalnews.com sd Mar 09 07
