Government to take action against guilty of Gaur incident: Sitaula

Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula has said that the government will take stern action against guilty of the Gaur incident.

Talking to journalists in Gaur on Thursday, one day after the killing of 28 Maoists in the area, the Home Minister said, "This is a barbaric act."

He also said condemnation was too small for such an act, adding that the responsible persons should not be sheltered at any cost.

Similarly, General Secretary of CPN-UML, Madhav Kumar Nepal said that the civilized world could not even imagine such incidents happening.

Maoist spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara said that the carnage was similar to the Doramba incident, adding, "This is a reminder to the Doramba incident. We do not want a repetition of such incidents."

Meanwhile, locals of Rautahat were confined to their houses even after the local administration lifted curfew from 3 pm, Thursday.

All shops and educational institutions in the area remained shut.
