Police arrests six suspects of Gaur incident

Police arrested and detained at least six people in Rautahat Saturday who are suspected to have hand in the Gaur incident.

Police had raided a number of houses in Sirsia village near the district headquarters Gaur in the morning.

Those arrested during the police raid include Ram Janam Das, Raghunath Mahato, Babloo Raut, Oyanath Raut, Lalbabu Paswan and Binod Raut. Police also recovered a pistol from the arrested people.

Security has been beefed up in the district and police forces are dispatched in various places as per the decision of the district security committee.

The clash between Maoists and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum killed 28 and injured over 40 in Gaur on Wednesday.

Gaur is yet return to normal life. Shops remain shut, industries are closed and education institutions have not been opened. Very few vehicles, especially smaller ones, are seen plying in the streets. nepalnews.com ia Mar 24 07
