NEPSE registers nominal fall
After growing unabated for weeks, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) lost less than one point over the week. The NEPSE that opened at 525.64 points on Sunday closed at 525. 05 points on Thursday, the last day of stock trading.
This is the first time that the stock market has taken a plunge since soaring high from mid-April. The NEPSE index was up by 1.75 last week and about 3 points a week before that.
The weekly NEPSE data shows that the total turnover stood at Rs 174.6 million with 449,320 units of shares being traded over the week. During the previous week, a total of 356,997 units of shares were traded on a turnover of Rs 152 million. nepalnews.com ag May 27 07
