AFC Under-19: Nepal loses to Jordan
Though the Nepali U-16 team had defeated Jordan a few weeks ago, the Nepali
U-19 team were unable to beat Jordan U-19 in the AFC Under-19 Championship
qualifying football tournament in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Tuesday.
Though the Nepali team played an influential game, they could not score any
goals with an early 3rd minute penalty kick wrecking the Nepali rhythm. Amer
Abuhati of Jordan converted the spot kick following a foul by Laxman Ruchal
inside the box.
In the second half, despite playing an aggressive game, the Nepal conceded
another goal in the 51st minute. Though the Nepali team created some
chances, lack of finishing denied the fruits. Coach Raju Kaji Shakya,
however, expressed satisfaction over his-- boy's performances.
Nepal, in Group D, will take on Yemen on Thursday. Uzbekistan and Palestine
are the other teams in Group D. nepalnews.com bt Nov 07 07
