Maoists seek NRN support in favour of republic
Maoist spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara has asked the Nepali Diaspora to support their demand for establishment of a republic, democratic and sovereign Nepal on Friday.
Addressing an interaction programme organised by his party, Mahara said "We want the intellectual circle, presently living overseas, to understand the root of the problem Nepal is facing and be a part of the campaign to construct a new Nepal with their expertise and resources."
He said development process in Nepal would accelerate if it ably taps the skills and resources of the Nepali Diaspora.
He said that a circle of Nepali citizens in the country doubt and even misunderstand the contribution and possible future role of the Maoists, adding that the NRN circle, however has understood that the past of the Maoists was not futile.
Dr Jugal Bhurtel, NRN Association's spokesperson, said all NRNs urged the party leaders to make arrangement for casting votes by Nepalis living aboard in the constituent assembly elections.
"We NRN must take strong steps to regulate the deviation in manpower business and stop more Nepalis from being cheated," Bhurtel said.
