After his wish of visiting Krishna Mandir in Patan during Krishna Janmasthami festival Tuesday went unfulfilled, King Gyanendra instead visited a Krishna temple located inside Narayanhiti palace itself and offered his respects to lord Krishna.
King Gyanendra, who has been staying in Nagarjun palace, the summer retreat of the royal family, arrived at Narayanhiti palace at 8 am in the morning. After worshiping lord Krishna and receiving the offerings brought from Krishna Mandir in Patan, he again returned to Nagarjun palace at 12:30 pm, according to reports.
After the program of visiting Krishna Mandir was cancelled following the refusal of the government to arrange security for the King’s visit, the palace had sent military police personnel there to worship lord Krishna on the behalf of the royal family. The plain clothed military personnel from the palace had performed puja in the temple with the help of police deployed in the temple and had returned with prasads or offerings for the palace, reports said. nepalnews.com ag Sep 05 07
