Rainfall takes its toll, one each killed in Sindhupalchowk and Dhading
Triggered by torrential monsoon rainfall, landslides have hit several places across the country. One person has been killed in Sindhupalchowk district while a swollen river has swept away a lady in Dhading district.
On Tuesday night, one Chyangba Tamang was killed after a landslide hit a container van in Liping bazaar near Nepal-China border in Tatopani. Tamang, an assistant driver, was sleeping inside the container van with the registration number Na 1 Kha 4147. Driver of the container was also injured in the landslide. The Araniko highway has been disrupted at different places by landslides.
Meanwhile, a lady named Kahili Sarki, 48, has been swept away by swollen Malekhu river near Gajuri of Dhading district on Tuesday.
