Janasamparka Samiti elects Dr Devkota new chief

The first convention of the Nepali Congress affiliated Nepali Janasamparka Samiti, held on September 2 at Hardfort, USA has elected Dr Surendra Raj Devkota as the president for the period of three years.

The convention also elected 19 other central committee members.

The convention also passed a resolution that each member of the organisation will donate one dollar a month to be used for development activities in Nepal and establish a Credit Union within the next five to 10 years to enhance the economic status of Nepalis in the US.

Inaugurated by coordinator of the Nepali Congress foreign relation division Trailokya Pratap Sen, the convention also received wishes from Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, NC-D president Sher Bahadur Deuba and NC leader Ram Chandra Pokhrel.
