Serious conspiracies on to disrupt CA: Bhattarai
Maoist leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai on Wednesday claimed “serious conspiracies were being hatched” to disrupt the Constituent Assembly (CA) election, and said that in such situation, there was little possibility of holding it on November 22 as scheduled.
Speaking at an interaction program organized by the pro-Maoist Nepal Industry and Commerce Organization in Butwal, Dr Bhattarai said, “As the situation is still not favorable, we don’t see any possibility of holding the election in November.” He, however, didn’t clarify as to who were hatching conspiracies against the CA election.
He also said that a new understanding was needed to create an enabling environment for the election. For this, he said, the country should be declared a republic immediately.
Saying that the party is not against holding the election, Dr Bhattarai said, “But holding a real election at the moment is almost impossible. So there is no meaning of holding it at all.” nepalnews.com ag Sep 06 07
