More relief fund for flood victims
As a part of the global Non Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) effort to support the flood victims in Nepal, the Nepali Americas Council (NAC) on Wednesday collected US$2,300 and sent it to the NRNA office in Kathmandu.
The NRNA headquarters will arrange for distribution of the relief fund.
The money was donated by Calgary Nepali Community Association, Canada, Friends of Nepal, New Jersey, America Nepal Women's Association (AWNA) and many individuals.
NAC said it will send more support in the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, NRN Australia has also collected Australian $3212.50 (as of Sept 06) for the flood victims. According to a statement by them, they have appealed to all Nepalese residing in Australia for cash donations to the Flood Victims Relief Funds in Nepal.
Similarly, Employees' Provident Fund has donated Rs 500,000 for the flood victims on Wednesday, which will be disbursed through the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund, a statement by the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers said.
