NA's strategic meet begins
The meeting of the divisional heads of the Nepali Army (NA) and the army generals present in Kathmandu valley has begun in the capital on Thursday to discuss the security strategies in the coming days.
At the meeting, which began at 10 this morning, all the divisional chiefs will present their activity reports followed by directions from department chiefs.
Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) General Rookmangud Katawal will also address the meet to explain the current security situation in the country and the role that Nepali Army could play during the polls.
Though it was agreed that the army will not be deployed during the polls, few ministers have been saying that its deployment is possible.
Some reports also say that the NA is drafting security strategy ahead of planned agitation in the form of urban revolt by the Maoists.
Recently, the NA had also organised a seminar on its role in democracy and human rights. nepalnews.com ia Sep 06 07
