Maoist chairman Prachanda has claimed the allegations that his party is not sincere towards constituent assembly elections are coming from regressive elements and that they are aimed at defaming the Maoists.
Addressing a training session organised by Newa State Committee for constituent assembly campaign in the capital on Monday, Prachanda said real CA polls would never happen as long as monarchy stays on. He claimed the Maoists were fully committed to the polls.
Saying that the CA polls will be meaningless unless proper environment is created, the Maoist strongman claimed that the 22-point demand put forward by the party were meant for preparing grounds for the polls. He also asked the party cadres to become ready for the next round of 'people's revolt'.
Prachanda had yesterday warned that his party would walk out of the government if the 22 demands were not met by Sept 18.. nepalnews.com ia Sep 10 07
