NPU general convention begins in Pokhara
The 6th general convention of the Nepal Press Union (NPU) kicked off in Pokhara from Monday.
Inaugurating the convention at the Dipendra Conference Hall in Pokhara, Nepali Congress (NC) general secretary Sushil Koirala called upon all the journalist to play a pro-active role for holding the Constituent Assembly election successfully.
The two-day convention will elect a new leadership of the NPU for the period of two years. The closed-door session will start from today evening.
NPU’s outgoing president Murari Sharma said the elections to elect the new leadership would be held tomorrow.
Some 650 journalists are taking part in the convention from 75 districts. nepalnews.com ag Sep 10 07
