RPP puts off convention again
Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has once again put off its party convention.
Although the convention was slated to be held in Kathmandu on September 23-24, the party has now decided that it would be held after the election.
The party leaders have said that they were unable to hold the convention now since the workers and leaders were busy preparing for the November 22 Constituent Assembly elections.
The RPP had, earlier, decided to hold its convention on August 24-25 but had later rescheduled it to September 23-24.
According to party spokesperson Parshuram Khapung, the central committee meeting of the party will now have to adopt the party manifesto, which he said will be finalised in the third week of September. The RPP has also hinted that it would dissociate itself from pro-monarchy line in the coming election.
The suspension of its convention has come in the wake of reports that RPP led by Pashupati SJB Rana was preparing to unite with Rastriya Janashakti Party (RJP led by Surya Bahadur Thapa. nepalnews.com sd Sep 14 07
