Stock market sees a nominal growth
After registering a handsome rise of over 40 points last week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) cooled down significantly this week gaining a nominal 1.79 points only.
Trade analysts said the slump was the result of market trying to correct itself as it had been soaring even though there wasn’t any favorable development
The Nepse index, which stood at 811.98 points on the opening day, closed at 713.77 points on the last day of stock trading. The turnover in the bourse remained very strong, with 700,153 units of shares worth Rs 595.5 million having traded during the week.
Commercial banks groups and insurance companies posted a nominal growth while hydropower and other trading groups did not see any change, as their indices remained static. nepalnews.com ag Sep 16 07
