Interim constitution will be at risk if Maoists quit, says Poudel
A senior minister has said that even the interim constitution will be at risk if the Maoists carry out their threat to quit the government and launch agitation.
Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Ram Chandra Poudel has said that although he hopes that the Maoists will drop their agitation plan in the end, he fears that such a move could trigger grave consequences.
"It will affect the peace process. It will even put the interim constitution at risk," said Poudel, on Monday.
Poudel, however, said that the government will proceed with the election plan even if the Maoists quit the government.
"Election will have to take place. We have no choice," he said. nepalnews.com sd Sep 18 07
