Foreign Ministry sends names of envoy-nominees to foreign capitals
Following the approval of their nominations by the parliamentary special hearing committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent the nomination documents of all the 21 envoy-nominees to the respective countries, reports Nepal Samacharpatra daily.
The nominees whose names have been sent include Shailaja Acharya – on whose name the parliamentary committee could not reach to a consensus. She has been nominated to head Nepal's mission in New Delhi.
As per the tradition, such submission can be approved by the respective host governments within a week at the soonest and within three months at the latest.
Of the 21 envoy-nominees, four are nominated by the Maoists. It is still unclear whether their names would be approved at a time when the Maoists have announced to quit the government and launch protests. nepalnews.com sd Sep 19 07
