NHRC chairman Upadhyaya sworn in
Newly appointed chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Kedar Nath Upadhyaya was sworn in Wednesday.
Acting Chief Justice Kedar Prasad Giri administered him oath of office amidst a function organised at the Supreme Court.
Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala had appointed former Chief Justice Upadhyaya as the chairman of the NHRC and four other members Monday on the recommendation of the Constitutional Council.
Upadhyaya will administer oath of office to the NHRC members – Ram Nagina Singh, Lila Pathak, Gauri Pradhan and K.B Rokaya – at the NHRC office this afternoon. nepalnews.com mk Sep 19 07
