In a similar message addressed to the people on the eve of the polls, PM Koirala said that the election to the Constituent Assembly will spring open a door to a "new era". He also stressed the need to make the polls a success to build peaceful, prosperous, affluent and democratic Nepal.

He further said although there have been instances of killings and violence in some parts of the country meant solely to terrorise the people ahead of the polls, the government is committed to investigate such incidents and take action against those found guilty.

He also called upon all the political parties to exercise restraint and respect the people's mandate.

Meanwhile, PM Koirala has arrived in his home town Biratnagar to, as what he told journalist upon arrival at the town's airport, cast vote in tomorrow's election.

Immediately after reaching there Koirala busied himself in meetings with security chiefs of eastern region during which he directed them to further bolster the security arrangements.

The regional heads of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force and National Investigation Department reached the Koirala's family home which he uses as a retreat from his busy schedules in capital. nepalnews.com ag Apr 09 08
