Maoists take lead in Bardiya, Dang
CPN-Maoist is leading in all 4 constituencies of Bardiaya district, which is traditionally a Nepali Congress stronghold.
Maoist candidate Sarala Regmi is leading in Banke constituency-1 with 1736 votes as of writing this news (3:15 pm), ahead of his closest rival CPN-UML leader Bam Dev Gautam who has got 675 votes.
Similarly, in Banke constituency-2 another Maoist candidate Bishnu Prasad Chaudhari is leading with 1564 votes while his nearest rival UML's Shyam Kumar Dhakal has got 412 votes.
Although Maoist candidates are also leading in the Banke constituency 3 and 4, they are facing a tough fight from NC and UML candidates and the results might go either way, as the vote counting in the initial stage.
Likewise, the Maoists are leading in three constituencies in Dang district while counting is yet to start in remaining two constituencies.
Maoist spokesperson Krishna Mahara is leading with sound margin in constituency-3 with 1855 votes to Anita Devkota of NC who has got 990 votes. In constituency-1, CPN-M's Indrajeet Chaudhary is ahead of NC's Khum Bahadur Khadka.
