Prachanda tells parties not to shy away from past agreements
CPN-Maoist chairman Prachanda on Monday said that no body should shy away
from past agreements and understandings, and urged them to work in
collaboration to form a "government of consensus" and establish
sustainable peace in the country.
"No body can run away from past agreements and understanding, that of
forming a government of consensus. Even though the people gave a clear
mandate to Maoists for establishing sustainable peace in the country, it
can be achieved only after all parties move ahead in tandem with each
other," Prachanda said.
The Maoist chairman who is tipped to be the first president of the new
democratic republic of Nepal was speaking at a programme organised in the
capital to felicitate all the candidates from the Kathmandu valley who
emerged victorious in April 10 polls.
In a slight clearly aimed at CPN-UML and NC, Prachanda requested political
parties not to feel down just because they have performed badly in the
polls, calling upon all of them to work together for Nepal's bright
future. nepalnews.com ag Apr 21 08
