Beijing Olympics 100 days countdown ceremony to be held in Kathmandu
Nepal is set to organise a 'Beijing Olympics 2008 100 days countdown ceremony' on April 30 in Kathmandu.
Thousands of people including sports persons and students will gather at Dashratha Stadium at 7:00 am, and a march past will be held, according to the organisers.
Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala will inaugurate the programme. Cultural shows and sports demonstrations will be other features of the programme.
Organised by the National Sports Council and Nepal Olympic Committee, the ceremony will be the biggest programme held in Nepal for the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
As requested by the Chinese government, Nepal has made special security arrangements to thwart possible disruption by pro-Tibet protesters during an Olympic torch relay to the top of Mt Everest in the run up to the Beijing Olympics. nepalnews.com mk Apr 26 08
