Amid confusion over the composition of the future government, Maoist
spokesperson and communication minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara has
expressed confidence that the next government will be formed on the basis
of political consensus.
"The government will be formed on the basis of consensus among the
political parties," Mahara said at a programme organised by the Kathmandu
chapter of Federation of Nepalese Journalists on Sunday, adding "The
foundations of old consensus stands broken after the constituent assembly
election, so new political consensus should be based on the mandate of the
people expressed through the election."
When asked about the differences among the parties over the formation of
new government, Mahara said that political understanding would build up
gradually once the election process is completed.
The communication minister also assured that Right to Information Act and
the Working Journalist Act would be implemented as soon as there is a new
government and informed that the government was waiting for final results
of the election for constituting the much-awaited Information Commission.
Information Commission could not come into being after the EC asked the
government not to go ahead with the formation process until the completion
of the election process. nepalnews.com mk/ps Apr 27 08
