CA demands answer from govt on food, fuel crisis
Chairman of the Constituent Assembly Subash Chandra Nembang on Thursday directed the government to furnish the reason behind the stark shortage in fuel and food items in the country.
He issued the directive after lawmakers of 12 fringe parties disrupted the proceedings of the CA demanding that the government resume normal supplies of the essential items. They also said that the government should respond to parliament over worsening fuel and food crisis.
The lawmakers had picketed the rostrum and started chanting slogans against the government immediately after the CA session began at 11:30 am. Because of the disruption the session was adjourned for half an hour.
The lawmakers said as the government has utterly failed to resume normal supplies of the essential items, they have been left with no option but to disrupt the regular CA session.
The next meeting of the CA has been scheduled for Sunday. Finance and Supply Ministers are expected to respond to the CA regarding the fuel and food crisis. nepalnews.com ag Aug 08 08
