NC will be pushed to opposition if it demands Defense Ministry: Prachanda

Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said that the Nepali Congress will be pushed to opposition if it continues to demand Defense Ministry.

According to reports, Prachanda said that his party will not provide Defense portfolio to NC at any cost.

After meeting with Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) leadership, Monday, Prachanda said that there will not be any problem in the integration of People's Liberation Army (PLA) if they handle Defense Ministry.

He also said that the Maoists are capable of handling Nepali Army (NA) and PLA issues also.

His remarks have come amid deepening distrust between Maoists and NC over the issue of dividing ministerial portfolios in the new government. nepalnews.com Aug 11 08
