Three-party alliance finalises code of conduct for ministers

The alliance of three parties- CPN (Maoist), CPN (UML) and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) - has finalised the code of conduct for ministers in the new government.

The three-member taskforce of the alliance on Saturday finalised the draft of the code of conduct.

Maoist leader and taskforce member Dev Gurung said works on the common minimum programme (CMP) and the government's working procedures were also in the final stage.

Speaking to reporters after the taskforce meeting held at CPN-Maoist's parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar, Gurung said the CMP would mainly aim at strengthening nationality and democracy, bring the peace process to a logical end, execute immediate relief programmes as well as economic and development programmes.

A meeting of the top leaders will give final touch to the CMP before it is signed, he said. nepalnews.com mk Aug 16 08
