NEPSE up 9 pts
After weeks of double-digit growths, the stock market slowed down slightly, with its index registering a growth of 9.25 points to end at 1,084.76 points on Thursday, the last day of stock trading.
Trade analysts said that the overheated market was slowly heading towards correction.
768,255 units of shares changed hands in the bourse over recording a turnover of Rs 811.3 million.
According to the group-wise share trading data provided by Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), commercial banks, as always, registered an increase of 10.67 percent to reach 1,143.62 points, while shares of hotels and manufacturing companies also recorded a rise of 2.59 points and 2.68 points respectively to reach 426.25 points and 349.42 points.
The shares of development banks, finance companies, insurance companies and trading group also registered growths. However, hydropower groups were the sole lose this week. nepalnews.com Aug 17 08
