Man vows not to marry again after 25th marriage
A middle-aged man from eastern hilly region of Sankhuwasabha seems to have
finally found his soul-mate after marrying 25 women in the last 23 years.
According to a report, Ramchandra Katuwal, 49, of Khandbari-11 has decided
not to tie the nuptial knot again as he says he is quite happy with his
current wife Sharada. The couple has been together for the past seven
years now and has three children.
His first wife whom he married at the age of 26 had eloped some time after
their marriage. But unable to imagine a house without a wife and perhaps
also because he was lonely, he immediately married again. However, the
second marriage was also not successful as his wife left him again.
Undeterred by this, Katuwal continued to marry one after another women
until he finally experienced the marital bliss after he married his 25th
wife.
Katuwal, who makes a difficult living working as porter, told the
Kathmandu Post that poverty was to blame for his wives deserting him.
Because he was married so many times in the past, Katuwal can only
remember nine of them including his current wife Sharada.
Now that his marriage is on track, Katwual's only concern is providing
good education to his three children and acquire the land ownership
certificate for the public land where he and his family have been living
in by building a thatch-roof house. nepalnews.com Aug 19 08
