Indian leaders reluctant to speak on their talks with PM
Members of a visiting Indian delegation have showed reluctance to speak on
the issues they discussed with Prime Minister Puspa Kamal Dahal and other
senior political leaders.
Leader of the Indian team Sharad Yadav said it was not necessary to share
all the things t they talked with Nepali leaders with journalists.
Speaking at the Reporters' Club, he however revealed that the Prime
Minister Dahal had informed them about the inundation in Sunsari district
caused by Koshi dam, displacing more than 30 thousands people along the
river. Yadav said that both Nepal and India could solve the problem
through proper management of the water in Koshi River.
He also expressed commitment that he would raise this issue in the Indian
parliament.
When asked about PM Dahal's likely visit to China first, he said it was
Nepal's internal matter. His team had delivered the invitation letter of
Indian Prime Minister to Dahal for a visit to India. The Indian delegation
also includes K.C. Tyagi of Janata Dal (United) and Subindra Bhadauriya of
Samajwadi Party.
While asked about some Indian leaders' insistence that Nepal should adopt
Hindi language as its second national language, Yadav again said it was an
internal matter of Nepal.
He also stressed that with Nepal becoming democratic and stable country,
India would also benefit from it. nepalnews.com ps Aug 19 08
